Symptoms of Anal Fissures
The main symptoms are pain in the anal region during
passing stool. The pain may continue even after passing stool, which is
accompanied by bleeding too. The other symptoms include hard stool, itching in
the anus and in longstanding fissure cases, offensive discharge from the anus.
Anal Fissure is a result of the
trauma caused by the passage of hard, long stool (constipation) and repeated
episodes of diarrhea. In women, it may follow the delivery (vaginal delivery) of
