Graphite is a form of carbon and is the main constituent of pencils. The name graphite comes from the Greek word graphein, meaning "to write." (Graphite is also used in lubricants, polishes, batteries, and electric motors.) In women, Graphites is given for infrequent, scanty, or absent menstruation; enlarged ovaries; swelling of the breasts; and late menstruation with constipation. Graphites is a great remedy for menopausal complaints. Graphites is a key remedy for skin complaints, especially weeping eczema with a honey like discharge that often occurs behind the ears and the knees, on the palms of the hands, and on the nipples.
