Temper tantrums are no fun - for the child or the parent! Tantrums,
anger and rage are a way that your child shows you they are under too much
stress and can't deal with the situation. It is up to you as the
parent to mitigate and reduce their stress with enough sleep, naps, proper diet
and lifestyle choices that support a holistic approach to balance the demands of
a busy family life with the needs of your child.
There are many triggers for tantrums including the child being too tired, too
hungry, over heated, over stimulated, or with an overwhelmed sensory system.
Often times temper tantrums can be triggered by periods of rapid growth and
development, thus the "terrible two's" and the "terrible teens" are key times in
a child's life where tempers can flare out of control. Chronic and
repeating rage and temper tantrums will need the advice of a
professional homeopath, but for the occasional acute
temper tantrum flaring up (including with adults in this state), once again, we
have homeopathy to the rescue!
