What Area Cataracts? Cataracts are caused by oxidative changes in the lens
of the eye, which can lead to gradual clouding and impairment of vision.
Cataracts are mostly seen in older people, although exposure to radiation,
excessive sunlight, pollutants, and certain medications can increase the risk
for anyone.
Calcarea carbonica
Vision feels like they looking through a mist. Hardworking, responsible type, but
is overwhelmed when under stress. Tendency to a sluggish metabolism, may
gain weight easily. Sour perspiration. Constipation.
Worries about a breakdown or disease. Chilliness, swollen glands, weight
problems, easy tiring from exertion.
Calcarea fluorica
When there are harden or thicken abnormally. Tendency toward hard swollen
lymph nodes, joint pains, fibrous growths or bone-spurs. Worse during weather changes.

Causticum
Cataracts develop if person also has issues moving the eyes,. Muscles around the
eyeballs were stiff or weak. Worse after getting cold or in the wind or open
air. Feeling of grittiness or sand in the eyes. Muscular stiffness in many body areas.
Worse from cold. Better by warmth. Symptoms feel better in damp or rainy weather.
Eyelids may feel heavy. Eyes feel better when closed. Pressure in
the eyes, burning and itching. Light sensitivity and
seeing flashes of light.
Cineraria Homeopathic Eye Drops:
Recommended therapy is 1 to 2 drops in the eye, 3 to 6 times daily. Cineraria is the traditional homeopathic remedy most often
recommended as eye drops for cataracts due to its capacity to clear and
dissolve obstructing fibrils in the lens. In India, it is thought to be
the most valuable remedy for cataracts by healing the lens.
Boericke describes that it is most effective in traumatic cases and
should be instilled into the eye one drop four or five times a day for
several days. Clarke states that patients should be receiving specific
homeopathic treatment internally at the same time.
Colchicum Soft cataract. Pupils unequal. Pupil of the left eye
contracted. Dim vision after reading.
Naphthalinum
Soft or other cataract with opacity of cornea.
Natrum muriaticum
Useful at the beginning, when cataracts begin to develop. Muscles
around the eyes can feel bruised and weak, especially when the person looks
down. Feeling of gauze across the eyes. Part of the field of vision is hard to focus on.
Craves salt. Worse from being in the sun and with headaches from the sun.
Suppressed emotions, history of grief, reserved.
Phosphorus
Dust or mist in the eyes
obscuring vision. Soreness that feels like eyestrain after very little use.
Black spot before the eyes, use this remedy. Great burning of the eyes. Small bright dots of colored
light when the eyes are closed. Sympathetic and fond of company, but can tire easily.
Active imagination, fearful. Strong desire for cold drinks and refreshing
things like fruits.
Secale
Incipient cataract. Cataract of old people, specially
women.
Sepia
Sensation of weakness in the eye. Worse as evening approaches. Eyelids may twitch and there may
be sharp pains. Better during daytime hours
and when eating.
Silicea
Cataracts
after extended periods of eyestrain. Cataract of office workers. Tend to be chilly, often sweat at night.
Low resistance to infection. Fine hair,
weak nails, easy tiredness. Swollen lymph nodes frequently.
After-effects of injuries and ulcers of the cornea.
Sulphur Used aftr Surgical treatment of
cataract or done at any stage of the disease.
The best review article on the treatment of cataracts
is The Homeopathic Treatment of Incipient Senile Cataract, with
Tabulated Results of One Hundred Cases by A. B. Norton, MD published
in the North American Journal of Homeopathy 1891.
This was a Retrospective Study looking at the
homeopathic treatment of cataracts in 295 Patients. 100 Patients
were under treatment for longer then 3 months.
Results: Improvement in 58% of cases, no
change in 42% , Slight decrease in 26%, Significant decrease 19%. The
best indication of success is the level of vision before treatment.
Dr. Norton looked at two groups. Vision better than
15/50 the results were as follows: decided increase in 14%, slight
increase in 26%, no increase in 60%. Vision worse than 15/50 the results
were as follows: decided increase in 29%, slight increase in 26%, no
increase in 45%.
The
earlier you treat the cataract the better the results.
