Using The Advanced Water Dosing Methods
of the 5th and 6th Organon

See Also Acute Dosing methods

For the most effective, gentlest method to a speedy recovery, do not give remedies dry.

Our Homeopaths all use the most advanced water dosing methods of classical homeopathy.
This method is taught in Dr. Samuel Hahnemann's 5th and 6th Edition Organon.

Individuals should not use these instructions without the guidance of a professional Homeopath.

Read More About Water Dosing

by Kari J. Kindem, Classical Homeopath

I have used water dosing exclusively both a user of homeopathy personally for many years on my extended family and friends circle, and now in my own full time classical practice.

I find in my practice that complex chronic cases (like autism) and all those with advanced pathology, or cases that have used allopathic suppression, vaccinations and/or those have significant gut dysbiosis and/or any autoimmune related diseases - do not have the VF strength to handle dry potencies easily and gently in such cases. This is why I use advanced water dosing exclusively in my practice.

The speed of recovery, the ability to adapt the dose per the individual case (both in acute and chronic care) is significantly improved with water dosing following the 5th (split dose water method) and 6th Organon (LM water dosing method).

However, both of these methods takes much, much more case management - sometimes on a daily basis during a test dose period, or in my practice, at least weekly, per client. This requires a strong and effective communication relationship with a homeopath, and a system to do so efficiently. But I believe and have seen water dosing bring gentle, steady results very effectively time and time again, in both acute and chronic cases.

The Simillimum that cures is not only the right remedy, but the right potency and the right dose - at the right dosing schedule. And this is essentially why the journey is so complicated!

By definition, there is always a (hopefully barely noticeable) aggravation on any remedy because the VF must have a secondary reaction to the primary action of the homeopathic medicine even in water dosing. But the central idea in the water dosing method is that it be so mild that it is under the radar of discomfort, M/E and physical aggravations that it is very tolerable. Then the improvements from the dosing are steady and will build up over time with each the increasing succussions so each subsequent dose helps the VF move gently forward to cure within.

I use the analogy in my practice of a good homeopath being like a "personal fitness coach": one who starts each client on their own unique plan, starting with lighter weights (water dosing), slowly increasing repetitions (succussions prior to the dose), on a manageable workout schedule (repeating dosing when it's needed, not too soon). And slowly and steadily over time, we sculpt the muscle (the VF) into a body building champion (recovery from disease).

What is an Acute Illness

  • "Acute" means the sudden onset of symptoms associated with a cold, flu, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.  Acutes are short lived events that will resolve and symptoms will disappear.

  • Symptoms that appear suddenly and appear for a few days or weeks are considered and acute.

  • Symptoms longer than 3 months are considered a chronic symptom in homeopathic care.

Tips for Acute Dosing

  • You don't always have to treat an acute condition with homeopathy. In less severe types of acute illness, you can sometimes just allow the body to deal with it naturally, when possible. You may choose instead to support recovery from less severe acutes with with other safe, natural means; vitamins, herbs, hydrotherapy, rest.

  • We most often use a 30C or a 200C. Most remedies are readily available in most health food stores.

  • The higher the potency (i.e. at 200C), the stronger the remedy.

  • We use 30C remedies for very sensitive people.  If you are treating a family member who is very sensitive, very elderly and in a very weakened state or if treating a family member with a lot of pathology (i.e. cancer ) then use lower potency remedy and also first consult with a professional Homeopath.

  • Do NOT try treat for chronic or recurring symptoms without the advice of your professionally trained Homeopath.

  • In selecting a remedy, DO NOT go by what symptoms are written on the remedy bottle by the manufacturer!

  • Consult  your professional homeopath for symptoms.

Instructions for Making Your Acute Homeopathic Remedy in Water for your Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB)

Use a Bottle of Filtered Water
For acute remedies, you can conveniently use a bottle of filtered water itself as the Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB).

  • Use only ONE HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY at a time for an acute condition!

    • 30C remedy - use 4 ounces of pure spring (purified, filtered) water.
    • 200C remedy - use 8 ounces of pure spring (purified, filtered) water.

For most acute conditions, if the person is not overly sensitive, you can start with a 200C as the test dose.  Acutes can respond to and often require a stronger action on the Vital Force (VF).

  • Take 2 pills (pellets) of ONE REMEDY and put it in a glass or plastic water bottle with pure spring water in it.
  • This is called the Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB).

Why Just So Few Pills of the Remedy?

The amount of pills used in the remedy bottle is very important! Using too  many pills, even if it is the correct remedy, can cause aggravations.

When homeopathic remedies are manufactured, only a few drops of the tincture are placed on 500 blank pills.  Just one 1 pill is enough to prepare the RSB for acute or chronic cases.  However, we suggest you use 2 pills to avoid having any blank pills in the RSB.

  • Let the 2 pills (pellets) of ONE REMEDY dissolve completely before giving the dose.  The remedy coats the pill/pellets which are sucrose or the tablet which is lactose and will dissolve easily in water.

  • Use a PLASTIC spoon to give the remedy and start with a TEST DOSE (see below).

  • You do not need to keep in refrigerator unless keeping it for several days and usually this will not be the case.

  • To preserve the remedy, requiring no refrigeration, add 12 drops of vodka or brandy into the 4 oz. RSB, or add 24 drops of vodka or brandy into the 8 oz. RSB.

Start With the Test Dose!

Always Start with a Test Dose!

In an acute, unless a person if very sensitive, you can give the dose straight from the RSB instead of using using a dilution cup.  You  can continue this way as long as there was NO aggravation after the test dose.

The first dose is called the TEST DOSE.
The TEST DOSE is never  succussed.

(See How to Succuss A Remedy below).

NEVER DRINK DIRECTLY FROM THE BOTTLE.
This can disturb the progression of potencies. It can cause an aggravation (temporary intensification) of your symptoms.

NEVER DRINK THE WHOLE CUP!

  1. WHEN USING A DOSE STRAIGHT FROM THE RSB:
Give 1 (one) teaspoon of the remedy directly from the RSB to a plastic spoon and into the clean mouth of the person.

  2. WHEN USING A DILUTION CUP:
Measure  1 (one) teaspoon of the remedy from the RSB vigorously into 4 oz. of water in a separate plastic (disposable) dilution cup. Then  stir it vigorously with a plastic spoon.

Be sure that the mouth is clean before dosing any remedy.

In the ideal situation, DO NOT eat any food or drinks (including water) at least 15 minutes before or after the remedy.

  1. SUBSEQUENT DOSES:
You may typically give one (1) teaspoon as the test dose and subsequent doses if there is NO aggravation after the test dose.

  2. Acute Dosing Tip for a very sensitive person:
Give a smaller dose: i.e. 1/2 tsp. or even 1/4 tsp. to make the remedy more gentle. For very sensitive people, children with autism (ASD), very elderly and in a very weakened state or if treating a family member with a lot of pathology  such as cancer.

Carefully Observe the Reaction After The Test Dose!

Wait ONE (1) hour to see if there are any aggravations or a change in symptoms.

If striking improvement follows an aggravation (symptoms initially intensify), little else will be needed for cure. If only slight improvement follows aggravation, the remedy must be made gentler (dilute, give less) and repeated.

If NO improvement occurs after 3 doses and/or only worsening of symptoms or altered symptoms, you should change the remedy.

Repeating a Dose and Succussions

How To Succuss a Remedy

Succussing a remedy makes it slightly stronger between doses and allows the Vital Force (VF) to more readily accept it.

Succuss the bottle each time before taking a dose: that is, hit the bottle against the palm of your hand or a leather-bound book.

Give the Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB) a strong, hard whack on the bottom from a distance of about 2 feet. You will hit (succuss) the bottle hard against the palm of your hand or a leather-bound book each time before taking all subsequent doses. (Think of a judge hitting a gavel.)  This will increase the potency of the dose slightly each time so that it gradually works faster, deeper and with a more gentle effect. The number of times you succuss the bottle (typically from 2 to 8 times) will be written on the label. You may find that you need to adjust the number of succussions.

  • Subsequent doses of the remedy are always succussed.

  • The amount of succussions can vary but is usually between 4 to 12; most commonly used for an acute condition is 8 succussions.

  • Give 1 teaspoon of the remedy (or the adjusted lower amount for the sensitive person) as the subsequent dose.

  • Be sure that the mouth is clean and there is no food at least 15 minutes before or after the remedy with each dose.

  • Wait 1 - 2 hours to see if there are any aggravations or a change in symptoms.

  • If there is improvement in symptoms but then the same symptoms return, give another dose, but wait at least 2 hours between doses.

  • You may repeat your dose as instructed by your homeopath in an ACUTE illness unless there is an aggravation after the test dose response, in which case you should STOP.

  • In homeopathy, "Less is More!" Doses repeated too frequently -- i.e. even while symptoms are improving -- are counterproductive.

  • You basically give 1 dose of 1 remedy at a time, wait and watch.

If There is NO Improvement After 3 Doses....

If no improvement on repeated dosing (up to 3 doses), then the remedy is most likely the wrong potency or the wrong remedy.

Consult a professional homeopath if you have an aggravation, or the remedy does not work after 3 doses or within 24 hours.

Mental, Emotional and Symptom Improvements Expected

  • If there is 50 percent or more improvement, it is best to wait.  Let the body continue to heal on it's own.

  • The types of improvement you may first see are in mental and emotional symptoms. For example, less anxiety, more contented emotions, general well being, mood, improved or better quality sleep, more pleasant dreams, improved thirst or appetite, etc.

  • The physical symptoms should then also improve steadily but they usually follow after the mental/emotional ones.

Reusing a Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB)

Do NOT Reuse the RSB!

The RSB bottle should NOT be reused once it contains the remedy energy, even for the same remedy of  a higher potency.

Do NOT share RSB bottles with others.

Always make up a fresh RSB for each remedy.

Always use a fresh plastic dilution cup and spoon per new remedy.

  • When the need for the remedy is over, always dispose of the Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB). You can pour the excess on plants or in your garden.

  • Do NOT share Remedy Supply Bottles, dilution cups or plastic spoons of your remedy with any one else!

Plussing a Remedy:

How to "Plus" A Remedy

If you get near the end of the Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB), keep at least one (1) teaspoon in there and add 4 more ounces of pure spring water to the same RSB to keep it going.

  • By succussing it each dose, you have been raising the potency each time and therefore you don't want to start over at a lower remedy by making a new Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB). Continue repeat dosing as advised by your Homeopath.

  • If you run out of a remedy your are currently dosing, you do NOT start over by making a new Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB) of the same potency.

  • You must continue upward in potency with the succussions done to the RSB. Because all succussions done to the RSB are  still contained in the remaining 1 teaspoon of the original RSB, you simply add 4 ounces of water to the RSB and continue with the dosing.

  • Continue repeating the dosing with the plussed RSB in the acute dosing manner stated above, as needed.

When you are done with the acute remedy, throw it all away.
